Aesthetic Experience
This series will consist of a reading of Mikel Dufrenne's "Phenomenology of Aesthetic Experience" and my commentary on that reading. I invite you to join me. You can read along if you have a copy of the book. But you may also participate by raising independent questions and telling us what you think. The book is available at amazon, and maybe some other places as well.
I don’t intend to do a lot of secondary reading. This will be just a pure reaction to what Dufrenne has to say. Also, my own remarks will be sort of spontaneous, though I will try to make them comprehensible. I have a background in philosophy, and long time ago studied some phenomenology, though I was mainly trained in the analytic tradition. So, this might be fun.
