A Very Special Artburst Performance of Holiday Classics read by Bob Penny and Marsh Adams with music by After Class

On Sunday, December 5, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. The Seasoned Performers will present

A Celtic Cajun Christmas: Dylan Thomas’s A Child’s Christmas in Wales
read by Bob Penny
and a spicy Cajun version of
Night Before Christmas
read by Marsh Adams,

with Holiday Music by After Class.

The performance is part of the ArtBurst series, and will be held in the Unitarian Universalist Church in Homewood (4300 Hampton Heights Drive). Tickets are $15 and include a festive holiday reception afterward. Groups of ten or more are $10 per ticket.

Bob Penny is a founding member of The Seasoned Performers Salon Readers for whom he most recently participated in An Afternoon with Eudora Welty. Bob has done character and leading roles in Birmingham theatre for over 35 years and has also appeared in commercial films and national television dramas: among them, Sweet Home Alabama; My Cousin Vinny; The Legend of Baggar Vance; and In the Heat of the Night.

Marsh Adams, a New Orleans native, is a Reader and member of The Seasoned Performers Salon Readers and has been seen in their Vaudeville Salon and numerous performances since moving to Birmingham about five years ago. Marsh has been in show business for over 50 years and was last seen in Almost, Maine at Birmingham Festival Theatre.

After Class is an acoustic instrumental trio which performs interpretations of tunes by the blind Irish Turlagh O'Carolan. These talented musicians also play original arrangements of Scottish, Welsh, English, Appalachian, Irish, Traditional American and modern tunes. Members include: Rob Angus - hammered dulcimer, Mark Weldon - fiddle/mandolin and Brant Beene - guitar/mandolin.
